Superbugs welcome packs sent out 📦

This week has been exciting - we sent out starter packs to schools participating in our new collaboration with Tanzania!

Our new project aims to increase pupils’ understanding of infection, hygiene and antimicrobial resistance, in collaboration with our friends at RBA Initiative.

By pairing up science classes in the UK and Ireland with schools in Tanzania, pupils and teachers will be able to explore topics together and learn valuable facts about each other’s lives and health priorities. We believe that by bringing together pupils from different cultural backgrounds their learning experience will be strong and memorable, and create a lasting impact.

Activities will cover the importance of personal hygiene, the role of microbes in the environment, and the effect of antibiotics and vaccination in controlling infections. School classes are encouraged to exchange artworks, texts, digital content and gifts directly with each other, to foster long-lasting relationships and as evidence of successful joint learning.

Starter packs provided to each school include printed learning materials, an introduction to the Superbugs website, supplies for experiments and activities, and prizes.

Parcels were sent to teachers in Penywaun in Wales, Macclesfield in England, Carlow (Ceatharlach) in Ireland, and Dodoma in Tanzania.

For a sneak peek at the new project please check out the corresponding page “Learning Together” that we are currently developing, bearing in mind that its content is still very much under construction.
